Salary: Up to £60,000, based on your skills and experience.
Your Mission:
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Technical Authority in the design and safety of Auxiliary Systems. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
* Collaborate with the Platform TA on requirements, acceptance, architecture, and safety of Auxiliary Systems.
* Lead the Zonal Review program, guiding it to final compartment approval.
* Manage technical relationships with Auxiliary System Suppliers, including conducting design reviews.
* Coordinate Auxiliary Systems Design Reviews.
* Take the lead in resolving key technical issues related to Auxiliary Systems.
* Identify and implement lessons learned from previous programs.
* Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
* Review key engineering deliverables from suppliers.
* Support the Platform TA in achieving necessary certifications.
Your Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for someone who can:
* Effectively manage and support multi-discipline, multi-site teams while interfacing with various providers and customers.
* Bring knowledge and experience in the design, development, integration, and operation of Auxiliary/HVAC Systems in a naval environment.
* Understand the broader Warship platform design and operational principles.
* Navigate product safety and environmental evaluation legislation.
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders and manage customer relationships.
* Be familiar with Lloyds Regulations.
All engineers should hold an academic qualification in Engineering or related STEM fields, along with specific qualifications that lead to recognition as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through a recognized professional institution. About the Auxiliary Systems Team:
Join our Maritime Naval Ships team as a Principal Engineer specializing in Auxiliary Systems. You will support the Technical Authority in the design, development, and spatial integration of Auxiliary sub-systems on the CSC platform. Your expertise will ensure that our engineering meets lifecycle management governance and safety requirements.
