Hamilton Robson, a global technology and AV company, is recruiting an Audio Visual Technical Lead to join our expanding team across the UK, EMEA, and USA.
This is a senior-level role, ideally suited to an AV professional who is both technically hands-on and a natural leader — someone who can design, programme, and deliver innovative AV and collaboration solutions, while guiding teams and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead the technical design, programming, and delivery of complex AV projects, remaining hands-on throughout.
* Recommend best-in-class AV, broadcast, collaboration, and integrated technology solutions.
* Translate client briefs into detailed system designs, schematics, and technical specifications.
* Mentor and inspire junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
* Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of high-profile projects.
* Act as technical authority, providing troubleshooting and advanced support during design, build, commissioning, and handover.
* Review and approve design documentation, schematics, and bills of materials.
* Travel to client sites globally to oversee installations, attend meetings, and provide technical leadership.
* Build and maintain strong client, consultant, and partner relationships.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and emerging technology best practices.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of internal design and programming processes.
Technical Expertise
* Broadcast Studio Technologies – including Ross Video, Vizrt systems.
* Advanced AV Networking – VTC, ATC, networking software & hardware; advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, and firewalls.
* Operating Systems & Computing – advanced working knowledge of Windows-based systems, Mac OS, and software applications.
* Display & Camera Systems – LED display wall systems, Panasonic cameras.
* Control & Audio Systems – advanced Crestron programming (Crestron Masters preferred), Yamaha, Biamp, Q-SYS, and related platforms.
* Video Conferencing & Collaboration Platforms – Poly, Cisco, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms.
* Certifications – CTS qualified (CTS-D or CTS-I) or actively working towards.
* Skilled in system commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis across diverse AV environments.
The Ideal Candidate
* 7+ years' experience in AV design, engineering, and programming.
* Demonstrated expertise across AV systems, collaboration platforms, video conferencing, and networking.
* Hands-on project delivery experience from concept through commissioning.
* Experienced leader who mentors by example and inspires technical excellence.
* Strong communicator with excellent presentation and client-facing skills.
* Highly organised, detail-focused, and confident managing multiple high-profile projects simultaneously.
* Comfortable with frequent travel and onsite leadership.
* Self-motivated, innovative, and passionate about technology.
* Ideally CTS-D, CTS-I, or equivalent certifications.
