Faculty of Arts and Humanities School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing Lecturer in Medieval and Early Modern Literature (Fixed term for 12 months) Ref: ATR1711 Salary on appointment will be £38,249 per annum, with an annual increment up to £45,413 per annum. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Medieval and Early Modern Literature to join the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing to undertake research within the framework of the school’s research strategy and contribute to the teaching, assessment and module organisation on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will have the opportunity to develop your research profile, working with the school’s Medieval and Early Modern Research group, which compliments existing research strengths, seeking national and international recognition. You will develop proposals to secure external funding and disseminate results through academic publications and conferences. A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area with experience of high-quality undergraduate teaching and student assessment is essential. You will have a track record, appropriate to experience, of high-quality publications and have produced research which has the potential to have an impact beyond academia. Experience of managing enterprise and engagement projects and evidence of successful applications for external grant income would be advantageous. This full-time post is available on a fixed-term basis from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026. ​ UEA offers a variety of flexible working options and although this role is advertised on a full-time basis, we encourage applications from individuals who would prefer a flexible working pattern including annualised hours, compressed working hours, part time, job share, term-time only and/or hybrid working.
