HLTA - PE | SEMH School | East London Location: East London Position: HLTA - PE Contract: Full-time, ongoing Start: ASAP Tempest Resourcing are proud to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking SEMH school based in East London. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a passion for Physical Education to join their team. This unique setting is an independent social enterprise providing specialist therapeutic education for exceptional neurodiverse children and young people aged 7 to 19. The school supports students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, typically associated with Autism, SEMH, and associated conditions. Many of the students have experienced significant trauma, multiple placement breakdowns, and prolonged periods out of education, often resulting in challenging behaviours. About the Role: As a PE HLTA, you will play a key role in delivering dynamic and engaging PE lessons across the school. Working closely with the Cross-Company PE Lead, your responsibilities will include: Supporting the planning, delivery, and assessment of PE lessons Providing tailored support to students of varying abilities Promoting teamwork, resilience, and positive behaviour through sport Ensuring health and safety during physical activities Assisting with extracurricular activities such as sports clubs and inter-school competitions Supporting the personal, social, and physical development of studentsThis is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in a highly supportive and therapeutic educational environment.
