Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to food safety. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation while maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
* Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily food preparation activities.
* Assist in menu planning and recipe development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in accordance with health regulations.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
* Oversee food production processes to ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes while maintaining quality control.
Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role within the restaurant or hospitality industry is essential.
* Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques.
* Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively, showcasing leadership qualities.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in kitchen operations.
