The Process Engineer will ensure the egg pasteurisation line operates efficiently, reliably, and with high technical standards. Responsibilities include technical ownership of the production line, scheduled maintenance, maximizing uptime, and supervising operators. The role involves driving continuous improvement aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Technical Line Ownership & Performance Optimization
* Take full technical ownership of the egg pasteurisation line, ensuring peak efficiency.
* Monitor, analyze, and optimize process parameters for maximum output and quality.
* Ensure OEE targets are met and develop strategies for improvement.
* Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Maintenance & Reliability
* Conduct scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance effectively.
* Work with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and resolve breakdowns quickly.
* Implement reliability improvements to extend equipment lifespan and reduce unplanned downtime.
* Maintain technical documentation related to processes and equipment.
Technical Supervision & Operator Training
* Provide technical leadership and supervision to operators.
* Train operators on machine operation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
* Develop SOPs to ensure consistency and high performance.
* Promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
* Lead projects to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.
* Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies to optimize workflows.
* Identify automation and process innovation opportunities.
* Track KPIs and implement data-driven improvements.
Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance
* Ensure adherence to food safety regulations (BRC, HACCP, GMP) and quality standards.
* Prioritize health and safety, ensuring safe operation of all equipment.
* Collaborate with QA to maintain product quality.
* Conduct process audits and support compliance assessments.
Skills Required
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and CI methodologies.
* Experience with process optimization, troubleshooting, and supervision.
* Understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
* Experience with automation and control systems.
Relevant Experience
Proven experience in process engineering within food manufacturing, ideally in egg processing, dairy, or similar sectors.
