Job Summary
Our nurse-led service offers apheresis, supportive care, and venesection. We care for patients with haematological cancers, sickle cell disease, and other haematology diseases. Our aim is to provide expert care to help patients avoid hospital admissions and manage their disease in an ambulatory setting.
We are currently open Monday to Friday 08.00 - 20.00, with shift patterns of 4 x 9.5-hour shifts per week. We do not currently work weekends, but may open a reduced service on bank holidays to support the unit.
Candidate Requirements
We seek experienced and motivated nurses eager to develop their clinical skills and leadership potential in haematology nursing within an ambulatory setting. Applicants must hold an active Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) PIN. Please note, applications from those with only a PRN are not accepted.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a Band 5 nurse within our Haematology Day Unit, including delivering expert patient care and developing skills in areas such as apheresis, ultrasound-assisted cannulation, femoral line placement, and bone marrow biopsy. Additional Information
Salary ranges from £35,964 to £43,780 per annum, on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is based at Guy's Hospital, Tooley Street, London.
