Exciting Opportunity with our partnered school part of Cabot Learning Federation. Support and inspire the next generation at a Weston-super-Mare location as an SEMH Teaching Assistant. The role supports pupils who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in the age range of 5–11 years old.
Role and Responsibilities
* Work 5 days a week (8:30 AM – 4:00 PM) in an engaging, hands-on role, sharing skills and passions to positively impact children.
* Inspire, mentor, and support children who have been excluded from their schools, helping them re-engage with education and thrive.
* Run activities with pupils outside the classroom, taking them out into the community for outreach and running activities with them. Mileage will be paid for these journeys.
* Provide support alongside other mentors and teachers to ensure the right support is in place for the students.
* Transport-related responsibilities: drive the required vehicle to collect and drop off students daily; mileage is paid. A driving license is essential and candidates will need to have or be able to obtain business insurance on their vehicle.
Candidate Requirements
* Must have SEMH experience.
* Experience supporting individuals who find it difficult to build social and emotional relationships.
* Individuals who have faced and overcome personal challenges, as your ability to connect and relate to our children on a deeper level is highly valued.
* Passion and the ability to inspire are the most crucial attributes.
* A driving license is essential, and candidates will need to have or be able to obtain business insurance for transporting pupils.

* Support pupils who have EHCPs in the 5–11 age range within an inclusive and supportive environment.
* Collaborate with mentors and teachers to ensure appropriate support is in place for students’ educational and well-being needs.
