OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The UK Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and objectives set by the company to increase business opportunities and generate revenue from new and additional business for the UK. This position will execute new sales from large Strategic Customers driving business growth, expanding market presence, and enhancing the company's competitive position through effective strategic planning, relationship building, and execution of business development initiatives.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Providing guidance, coaching, and motivation to the sales team to ensure they meet or exceed targets.
· Tracking sales performance against targets and implementing corrective measures as needed.
· Providing ongoing training and development opportunities for the sales team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
· Generating regular reports on sales activities, performance, and trends for senior management.
· Establish and drive strategic business development plans for own portfolio of customers.
· Convert client’s leads to gross profit in line with agreed objectives.
· Be an internal advocate for customer development initiatives while ensuring protection of the company’s interest
· Collaborate with Product Heads on product mix and key BD initiatives
· Understand key competitors and market and provide market intelligence to ensure competitive pricing (as aligned with commercial leadership)
· Provide accurate and timely information to client services, operations and sales support to ensure process and administration efficiency.
· Provide market feedback to develop offering to stay ahead of the market.
· Delivering service with high reliability and consistency, making it easier for the client to do business.
· Completion of presentations, proposals and tender responses to secure new business
· Cooperate with Credit Department to collect / settle outstanding loans / invoices from customers
· Daily use of the Global CRM platform to document sales activity and relevant customer business details.

· Monitoring sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective measures as needed.
· Identifying and managing risks related to sales activities, such as market volatility, competitive threats, and customer churn.

Relevant Experience
· 10+ years of relevant working experience in new business development within the Freight Forwarding industry

· Strong ability to influence and drive collaboration
· Strong understanding of both verbal and written English.
· Strong team member and is outgoing and willing to learn, develop and grow
· Proactive and excellent at Customer Services.
· Willing to take ownership of an opportunity or a problem to get to a quick and clear resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Secondary:
Tertiary/T.A.F.E. Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in transportation/logistics/marketing or above
Professional: 10 years’ experience in development and client relationship building freight
Freight forwarding industry with 5 years direct sales leadership experience.
