Contract: Part Time, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum
Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of PE looking to inspire young people through sport, fitness, and physical education?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Teacher of PE to undertake short term cover and long-term placements within local schools in Scarborough and the surrounding areas. This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly in local schools.
As a Teacher of Physical Education, you will deliver engaging and inclusive physical education lessons, promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong enjoyment of sport and physical activity.
Teacher of PE Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Promote participation, fitness, and positive attitudes towards physical activity
* Support students of varying abilities to achieve their potential
* Assess, monitor, and record student progress effectively
* Contribute to extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and enrichment activities
* Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing
Teacher of PE Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Specialism in Physical Education or a related subject
* Experience teaching PE at secondary school level
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* A passion for sport, health, and student development
* Excellent communication and organisational abilities
* An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
* An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
