About the Role
WSP has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our growing Engagement team. We drive best practice in engagement, community relations, consultation and stakeholder management for some of the country’s largest infrastructure projects, as well as delivering expertise within the water, health, energy and environmental sectors. Within our Land, Infrastructure Planning and Engagement business unit you will be supported by senior engagement specialists to help deliver the public consultation and engagement element of our work on projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Help communities and stakeholders understand projects and how they may impact them by writing easy‑to‑understand communications.
* Provide people with opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback through publishing communications, organising events logistics and running surveys.
* Present feedback to help projects develop responsibly by understanding data and helping to prepare reports.
* Support our clients in the UK and internationally by attending and minuting meetings, ensuring accuracy in documents and reports, and tracking stakeholder engagement.
* Proactively support your teams (project, location and engagement) to deliver quality communications and engagement activity.
Qualifications & Experience
* At least a degree‑qualified.
* Membership of a relevant professional or trade body is desirable.
* Experience in the road, rail, utilities, water, environment or energy sectors.
Preferred Competencies
* Strong team player with an enthusiastic and motivated attitude.
* Well‑ordered, structured approach to task delivery, adaptable within a demanding and fast‑changing environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage a varied workload.
* Excellent writing skills with strong attention to detail.
* Demonstrable communication or engagement experience.
* Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data gathered during the consultation process.
* Knowledge of social and digital media channels to connect with target audiences.
* Knowledge of drafting and print processes to deliver printed documents for events.
