Mechanical Design Engineer First Achieve Engineering is working with a long-established engineering firm renowned for innovation, quality, and technical excellence across various industrial sectors including Power, Oil & Gas, and Water. We're seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and supportive team, where you'll play a key role in the development and delivery of robust engineering solutions to real-world industrial challenges. The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll contribute to the design, development, and delivery of engineered products, using your expertise to ensure projects are executed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Key Responsibilities: Produce high-quality technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering documentation. Perform engineering calculations and generate detailed reports. Support senior engineers with technical delivery of enquiries and projects. Improve product performance through new design methods and materials. Create and maintain accurate bills of materials within the ERP system. Provide technical support across departments and to end clients. Apply principles of Design for Manufacture and Value Engineering. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and safety standards. About You To be successful in this role, you'll need: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks). Experience with engineering standards including BS 8888 and GD&T. Working knowledge of pressure vessel design (ASME VIII, PED, etc.) is advantageous. Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally Epicor. A detail-oriented, proactive mindset and strong organisational skills. Full right to work in the UK.
