Are you an experienced fire systems professional looking for your next challenge? Join our dynamic Projects Department as a Senior Commissioning Engineer, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality fire system installations across Kent and London.
What you will be doing
As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you'll be responsible for the commissioning of both addressable and non-addressable fire systems from a range of leading manufacturers. Your day-to-day will include:
* Independently commissioning fire systems to the highest standards.
* Reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and documentation to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Leading the resolution of complex technical issues and system faults.
* Escalating site or system issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
* Completing accurate and timely reports, timesheets, and expenses.
* Supporting other departments when needed, including occasional callouts.
* Configuring systems, testing software, and validating cause-and-effect functionality.
* Identifying potential sales opportunities while on site.
* Working occasional unsocial hours (night work).
Who we are looking for
Were seeking a confident, technically skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional work. The ideal candidate will have:
* Extensive experience commissioning fire systems to British/European Standards and BAFE/NSI codes.
* Advanced knowledge of fire system products and their capabilities.
* Proficiency across various manufacturers and system types.
* Relevant industry training (FIA Modules 1, 2, 3, and 5 or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Ability to produce clear engineering reports and handover documentation.
* Excellent interpretation of technical specs and architectural drawings.
* A self-motivated, results-driven approach with strong organisational skills.
* Professional, customer-focused communication and interpersonal skills.
