Service Engineer (Field & Site-Based)
UK Wide (occasional travel to Ireland)
We are recruiting for a Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering business operating within the food manufacturing and packaging sector. This is a hands-on role combining both on-site installation work and field service support, offering variety and technical challenge.
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday
* 8:30am - 4:30pm
* Day shifts
The Role
This is a 50/50 split between site-based project work and field service engineering. You will be involved in building, installing, maintaining, and fault-finding on food processing and packaging machinery across the UK, with occasional travel to Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
* Panel wiring and electrical assembly (site-based work)
* Service, maintenance, and repair of food and packaging machinery
* PLC fault finding and diagnostics
* Work with inverters, single-phase and three-phase motors
* Attend breakdowns and provide timely technical support
* Support installation and commissioning of machinery
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety standards
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Engineering discipline
* Background in manufacturing, ideally within the food industry
* Experience with PLC fault finding
* Strong electrical skills including panel wiring
* Knowledge of inverters and motors (single & three phase)
* Full UK driving licence
* Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally
