Job Title: Finance Manager Team: Children’s Services Hours: 37 Due to an internal promotion, a great opportunity has arisen to apply for a Band H Finance Manager role, heading up the Children’s Finance Team within the Council’s Financial Operations Division. This is a frontline senior management accountancy position. You will work directly with the Director for Children’s Services, supporting their Senior Leadership Team for Education, and their Senior Leadership Team for Social Care. You will be the finance lead supporting decision making by elected Members and elected Member Scrutiny requirements, to support our children and young people have the best possible outcomes. We are proud to say that our Children's Social Services have recently been rated Good by Ofsted. There is still more to do, however. National reforms of Children’s Services, to put Families First, and the nationally anticipated announcements on SEND support and funding, along with the Dedicated Schools Grant Management Plan, represent some of the biggest changes in Children’s Services in over a decade. This is a great time to influence and support change in a service that supports some of the most vulnerable of our residents. These national changes provide a great challenge and career developing opportunity for any aspiring or existing Finance Manager.
