1710MARG Project Controls Engineer Somerset energy innovation center £255.29 PAYE or £359.45 Umbrella Principal Accountabilities Team: Produce and maintain accurate forecasts and Project Controls data in alignment with the Cost Breakdown Structure or Work Breakdown Structure (CBS/WBS); Accurately maintain all Project Controls data for their area of responsibility within the Project Controls software systems e.g. Ecosys, P6, ARM etc. Co-ordinate and produce Project controls reports to a defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities. Delivers clear and concise insights to support robust decision-making utilising commercial and technical information to influence decisions. Analytical support for Project Controls Managers and Senior Project Controls Engineers through robust analysis and interpretation of technical, financial, and performance data to facilitate prioritisation and any necessary actions. Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually Applying fundamental project and business project controls principles and interfaces with wider management processes. Help promote and embed a culture of good governance, risk awareness and compliance across the organisation. Support the education of project controls reporting functionality and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement. Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protectedin accordance with EDF policies and procedures. As a subset to the Project Controls Engineer Generic position the role of the central change coordinator will be responsible for the following specific activities. Work with the other change coordinators in the central team to generate the supporting information that feeds into the Project ROTC Meeting monthly Produce the Project ROTC slide deck Collate data from all programmes / areas associated with the change process Monitor and reviewing the project change register and be accountable for the upkeep Responsible for the PCR template and update as and when required on the project Contribute to the drafting of any procedures, sub processes working instructions relating to the change process Accountable for updating and keeping the Change Project Controls Calendar updated Coordinate and arrange meetings for Project ROTC working with Directors PAs Be an active contributor to all team meetings with other change coordinators from central, area & programmes As a central change coordinator support programmes functions where no change coordinator is in place (support & site) Contribute & lead on the monthly Key Performance Indicators for the Change Process Produce the PMB in the cost tool (Ecosys) with the latest updates Share the PMB with change coordinators and costs engineers following the approvals in month of PCRs & the uploading of data into Ecosys at two stages (draft & Hardlock) Work with the central change team to develop Power BI data for wider reporting within the project Contribute to the continual improvement of the Project and specifically the change process Help train people into the change process and improve the quality of what is produced by others Work collaboratively with all staff on the project and support all functions to enable delivery of the project. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Understanding of project controls methodologies and techniques. High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of outputs and validity of quality data. Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effectively communicates complex issues and concepts (unique insights) in simple ways, to both technical and nontechnical audiences. Strong organisational and time management skills. High standard of interpersonal skills Collaboration with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually successful outcomes Qualifications & Experience Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in project management, project controls, engineering, or another related field Proven experience of Project Controls including the tools and a variety of techniques used to deliver project insight and assess performance Tools and Software The jobholder will be expected to have an ability to use, the following (or similar equivalent) software tools: Primavera P6 (Scheduling). EcoSys (Cost, Change, EVM) Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access); ARM (Risks, Opportunities, Trends). @risk (QCRA). Safran (QSRA). Adobe Professional (Report Publishing). Teamcenter (Document Control)
