Female Support WorkerLocation: LancasterPay: £13.66 per hourHours: 24-hour contract - You must be available to work day and night shifts.Day shifts: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 20:00pm, Saturday- Sunday 8:00am - 20:00pmWaking Night shifts: Sunday - Thursday 20:00pm - 8:00am, Friday - Saturday 20:00pm - 9:00amWe're looking for a dedicated support worker to provide one-to-one care for a young person with complex needs.As they are non-verbal, you'll need to be attentive to their eye contact and facial expressions to understand their needs and wants.They have a unique living arrangement, splitting their time between their mum's home in Lancaster and their dad's home on alternate weeks.Your responsibilities will include:Providing personal care, including PEG care, nutrition, hydration, and medication administrationMonitoring and recording vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen levelsManaging seizures, including administering buccal medication as neededSupporting the use of CPAP equipment overnightAssisting with daily living activities and personal careEnabling them to participate in activities of their choice and attend appointmentsTo be successful in this role, you'll need to be a compassionate and reliable individual who is committed to person-centred care.You'll also need to be comfortable working varied shifts, including day and night shifts, and be able to travel between the two family homes.Full training will be provided for the right candidate, although experience in supporting individuals with complex needs is desirable.
