Overview
In the 12-month placement in Digital Technology (DT) you\'ll gain hands-on experience in IT operations, project management, data analytics, and software development. You\'ll work on projects to improve business processes, support IT systems, and drive digital transformation.
Roles
* Digital Technology in Cardiff. You will play a key part in developing a Digital Toolset to drive productivity within the business functions. You will lead various projects utilising applications from the GE Toolset and new Analytics Tools. You will partner with these business functions to understand requirements and translate these into Operational Tools.
* Digital Technology in Caledonian. You will work on development of Microsoft M365 non-core load tools and integration into manufacturing and office processes.
* DT Technology and Operations Team at Cheltenham. This role is focused globally on Shop Floor MES and Quality Systems, offering a mix of software development and deployment of MES software at manufacturing sites.
* Digital Technology at Dowty. You\'ll gain skills and experience, providing support to the business on IT support services (Operations, Project Management & Data Analytics).
* Cyber Security at Cheltenham. Across the year you will experience five key areas within Cyber: Intelligence, Enterprise Vulnerability Management, Insider Threat, External Threat, and Digital Forensics.
This placement is ideal for students who want to grow their skills and gain valuable experience in digital technology. You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team. We will guide you throughout the year to ensure you make the most of your GE Aerospace experience. Your People Leader will offer coaching and mentoring, and you will be provided the opportunity to connect with other placement students across the UK.
Qualifications
* Currently studying an Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Management, IT Project Management, Cyber Security, ICT or Digital Technology Bachelor\'s or integrated Master\'s degree
* Passionate about Digital Technology
* On course to achieve a 2:1 degree or above
* To be in your penultimate year of study and returning to education post placement

The facility is based in Nantgarw, just north of Cardiff, and includes workshop space and engine test facilities. GE Aerospace Caledonian is a purpose-built aircraft engine overhaul facility adjacent to Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, and focuses on MRO of CF6 & GEnx engine types. With over 1,600 employees, Cheltenham is a major GE Aerospace site, focusing on power distribution and avionics systems. Dowty, a GE Aerospace company, is based in Gloucestershire and specializes in electronically controlled, composite propeller systems for a range of civil and military applications.
