Job Description
As Banquet Manager you will be responsible for all services related to banquet operation at Fairmont St Andrews.
Accountable Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
1. Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
2. Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards
3. Direct and manage all activity related to the Banquet department, ensuring all service standards are followed
4. Ensure all functions maintain a first class and positive visual impact; including ambiance, décor and service delivery
5. Coach and train the Banquet leadership team in all aspects of the department
6. Follow the annual budget and administer it in a fiscally responsible manner
7. Ensure all financial reporting is maintained and accurate billing for each banquet meeting is recorded
8. Respond to guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
9. Assume responsibility for all banquet facilities, including cleanliness, repair and maintenance, reporting any deficiencies as required
10. Attend pre-conference meetings with clients to confirm all relevant details are communicated
11. Liaise with the Event Planning Team to ensure that a common vision in direction is further developed, shared, and maintained
12. Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
13. Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings
14. Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
15. Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
16. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
17. Two Years Previous leadership experience in banquet operations or multi-unit food and beverage required
18. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Property Manager and Sales and Catering system preferred University/College degree in a related discipline required
19. Excellent communication and organizational skills
20. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
21. Highly responsible & reliable
22. Proven ability to build a strong and diverse team
23. Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
