We are pleased to announce a rare opportunity at Ty Hafan, for an experienced paediatric nurse to join our care team as a Band 6- Deputy Lead Nurse. We are looking for a dedicated nurse with passion and enthusiasm, able to lead others in providing holistic family centred care to our caseload of very special and inspiring children, young people, and their families. About the Role As a Deputy Lead Nurse your responsibility will be to provide high quality leadership to the hospice-based care team, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. Ty Hafans Deputy Lead Nurses make timely, intuitive and evidence-based clinical decisions as an essential part of their role. Support will be provided through working closely with our wider team of professionals. Our skilled team provide specialist care for children and young people with a wide range of complex conditions therefore, at Ty Hafan your work will be extremely varied, and deeply fulfilling. Candidates will be required to work 37.5 hours a week, covering 3 x 12-hrs shifts (days & nights) a week and 1 x 6hrs early, late or Twilight shift a month. Our shift patterns are as follows: Days 7.00am 7.30pm (12 hours) Nights 7.00pm 7.30am (12 hours) Earlies 7.00am 1.30pm (6 hours) Lates 1.00pm 7.30pm (6 hours) Twilight 4pm 10pm (6 hours) About Ty Hafan Ty Hafan is one of the UKs leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care, respite and dedicated support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions across Wales. About you We are looking for an experienced paediatric nurse who is an excellent communicator and enthusiastic role model, bringing both clinical expertise and emotional intelligence to every shift. You need to be confident in assessing complex care needs, making timely and evidence-based decisions, and guiding a team to deliver safe, compassionate, and holistic care. You must be able to recognise clinical deterioration, escalate concerns appropriately, and support evidence-based interventions in line with current protocols and best practice.
