About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Business Studies Teacher to join a specialist provision in Crowthorne, Berkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach Business Studies up to Key Stage 5 within a supportive independent special school setting, working with students who have a range of moderate learning difficulties.
You will deliver engaging, accessible lessons that inspire students and equip them with valuable knowledge and skills for further education and the workplace, while supporting their individual learning needs in a nurturing environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Business Studies lessons up to Key Stage 5
* Develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
* Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and critical thinking
* Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support achievement
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, attainment, and progress in line with school policies
* Stay up to date with current developments in Business Studies to enhance teaching practice
* Promote positive behaviour within lessons and across the school
* Communicate effectively with students, parents/carers, and colleagues
* Work collaboratively with staff, educational psychologists, therapists, and external professionals to support students
Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Degree in Business Studies, Economics, or a related field
* GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
Experience
* Proven experience teaching Business Studies up to Key Stage 5
* Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) (essential)
* A strong track record of supporting student achievement and progress
