Legal Secretary – Criminal and Civil Law (Bristol)
Salary: Up to £35,000, subject to experience
Overview
An established Bristol practice is seeking a Legal Secretary to provide dedicated support to the Director within its busy Criminal and Civil Law department. This pivotal role offers close involvement in case progression and day‑to‑day operational support within a fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the Director's primary support, managing diaries and coordinating court listings
* Prepare legal correspondence and documentation, liaising with clients, counsel, courts and third parties
* Audio‑typing, file management, billing assistance and document preparation
* Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal procedures
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in Criminal or Civil Law highly advantageous but not essential
* Strong administrative or PA experience; highly organised, discreet and able to manage competing priorities
* Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and confidence working independently
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; audio‑typing skills beneficial
