Quantity Surveyor required for a Civil Engineering Contractor based nr Warrington
A well‑established Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial lead on a portfolio of Infrastructure and Civils projects across the region.
This role offers autonomy, long-term career stability, and the chance to shape commercial strategy on technically challenging schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Taking full commercial responsibility across multiple civil engineering projects
2. Managing cost control, forecasting, CVRs and monthly reporting
3. Preparing and negotiating contracts, variations and claims
4. Managing subcontract procurement, appointments and performance
5. Overseeing valuations, payments and final accounts
6. Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost management
7. Supporting junior commercial staff and contributing to wider commercial planning
8. Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and company procedures
Experience & Skills Required:
9. Strong background as a QS/Senior QS within Civil Engineering (Infrastructure, Highways, Drainage, Structures, Earthworks or similar)
10. Thorough understanding of NEC contracts
11. Excellent commercial awareness and a proven track record of managing project finances
12. Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management skills
13. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with delivery teams
14. High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
