About the Role
We're seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a small, supportive engineering team within a successful food manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring machinery, facilities, and production systems run safely and efficiently through planned and reactive maintenance.
This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience who thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine inspections, repairs, and planned preventative maintenance to a high standard.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration plant faults.
* Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and reporting.
* Work safely within environments ranging from -35 C freezers to 220 C ovens, ensuring compliance with PPE requirements.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
* Collaborate effectively with the engineering team and provide support when required.
Skills & Experience Needed
Essential
* Trade-tested in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline (electrical bias preferred).
* Experience in industrial machinery, building/facilities maintenance, or manufacturing environments.
* Strong fault-finding ability across:
o Mechanical systems
o Electrical systems (including 3-phase and motor drivers)
o PLC-controlled circuits
Desirable
* Refrigeration plant fault-finding experience.
* Good organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Innovative, self-motivated approach.
Additional Information
* Full PPE must be worn at all times (including hairnets/beard nets).
* No travel required; this is a single-site role.
* On-site parking available.
* Reporting into the Engineering Manager.
* Team of three engineers.
