About The Role
As Senior Insights Manager, you will collate and synthesise existing research and evidence on initiatives aiming at improving handset affordability for women and underserved populations in low‑ and middle‑income countries. You will identify key knowledge gaps, lead the development and management of bespoke research studies to inform future stakeholder action, and formulate actionable insights that help mobile operators and other providers identify commercially sustainable and socially impactful actions.
Responsibilities
* Collate and synthesise research and evidence on handset affordability initiatives for women and underserved groups in LMICs.
* Identify knowledge gaps and lead development of bespoke research studies.
* Manage research studies, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
* Formulate actionable insights for mobile operators and other providers.
* Synthesise and disseminate findings through reports and presentations.
* Shape and deliver best‑in‑class case studies and briefs to support GSMA’s thought leadership.
About You
The right candidate will take an evidence‑based approach, with a solid foundation of research and evaluation expertise, and a gender‑lens perspective. You have an interest in empowering underserved populations in LMICs, especially women, and thrive in a diverse team environment.
Qualifications
* Experience designing and managing primary research projects in low‑ and middle‑income countries, including gender‑inclusive research methodologies.
* Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods and tools.
* Experience procuring external research agencies and managing them to deliver high‑quality deliverables.
* Ability to plan and manage research projects independently.
* Fluent and compelling written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to synthesise thought‑leadership deliverables into succinct key messages.
* Confident stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
* Collaborative team player with experience in diverse cultures.
* Knowledge of barriers facing women in accessing and using mobile phones.
* Interest in driving mobile internet adoption and use in LMICs, with an understanding of commercial and social benefits.
* Self‑starter, highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and creative.
* Experience working in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
