Make a Lasting Impact — One Learner at a Time
Are you a compassionate educator with a desire to make a difference outside the traditional classroom?
We’re looking for dedicated Outreach Tutors and Teachers to provide personalised one-to-one and small group support to students across Medway. This role supports learners who are currently unable to attend mainstream education due to anxiety, social-emotional needs (SEMH), SEND, behavioural challenges, or those with PTSD through our partner Alternative Education Service in Kent. (You will not be working for our agency)
Whether you’re in a pupil’s home, a local library, or an education setting, you’ll help learners rebuild confidence, re-engage with education, and work towards meaningful academic outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
* Delivering tailored one-to-one sessions in core subjects such as English, Maths, PSHE, and more to secondary-aged students from EYFS to Year 11 (including GCSE/Functional Skills).
* Building positive relationships with students and their families to foster trust and engagement.
* Adapting teaching strategies to suit individual learning needs and styles.
* Supporting students' academic progress alongside emotional resilience and personal growth.
* Maintaining accurate session records and progress reports.
* Using varied tools and resources to keep sessions engaging and impactful.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified or experienced educators with strong Maths and English skills.
* A background in working with young people—especially those with SEMH.
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a student-centred approach to learning.
* Confidence working independently across different environments.
* Experience with risk assessing.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply — support available — cost £55.50).
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
Why Join Us?
* Flexible hours to suit your schedule (typically between 9:30am-4pm).
* Consistent work — as one placement ends, we aim to match you with another.
* Weekly pay, with a choice of contract options (self-employed or umbrella).
* Curriculum support, access to hub of plans to adapt to your students and resources.
* Ongoing CPD courses, including Safeguarding, Positive Handling, Mental Health Awareness.
* Immediate starts available across Medway.
* Note: By applying through LT Support you gain quick introduction to the service and organisations, with registration support and broader opportunities within Kent and Medway’s Alternative Education providers.
