Job description
Responsibilities
* Health Surveillance: Conduct health assessments and screenings for employees, including pre-employment and periodic health checks. Monitor and manage the health surveillance program, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Health screening includes but is not limited to: Audiometry / Spirometry / Vision Screening / Skin Assessments / HAV's / Forklift Truck Medicals / New Starter Screening / Drug & Alcohol Testing.
* Injury and Illness Management: Provide immediate response and first aid for workplace injuries or illnesses. Collaborate with on-site medical facilities and external healthcare providers to manage more serious cases. Complete onsite flu immunisations.
* Health Promotion: Develop and implement health promotion initiatives, campaigns, and training programs to enhance employee well-being. Conduct educational sessions on topics such as nutrition, stress management, and overall health.
* Case Management: Manage occupational health cases, maintaining accurate and confidential records. Have strong data literacy skills and be proficient in various software for tracking and updating occupational health cases. Liaise with external health professionals, maintaining effective communication throughout the case resolution process. Complete off-site visits as and when they are required.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, advising on necessary adjustments to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in risk assessments and provide recommendations for hazard control.
* Emergency Response: Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response protocols. Provide support during critical incidents, working closely with the emergency response team.
* Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with HR, management, and external agencies to support the overall health and well-being strategy. Communicate effectively with employees, providing guidance on health-related matters. Help develop and build new processes to enhance employee's wellbeing across the group.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in Occupational Health, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
* Post registration qualification in Occupational Health Nursing.
* Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and legislation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
