Early Years Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – September 2025 Start
Location: Standish, Wigan
Pay: £12.50 – £14.25 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (32.5 hours per week)
Teaching Personnel are working with a well-regarded nursery in Standish to recruit a passionate and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for someone confident supporting children aged 3–5, including those with additional needs.
The successful candidate will assist in delivering early Reading and Writing activities, provide small-group interventions, and help children feel settled, safe, and engaged. A calm and nurturing personality is essential, as the nursery prides itself on building strong relationships with both children and their families.
The nursery also offers excellent outdoor learning provision. Children spend significant time outdoors learning through play, so applicants must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
Requirements:
Level 2 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
Previous experience in a nursery or EYFS school setting
Confident supporting children with SEN
Available full-time from September 2025
Enthusiastic, dependable, and approachable personality
12-month contract, with the potential to become permanent from January 2026
