Full Stack Engineer - Credit Cards Full Product Team
Hybrid in London / Remote within the UK
The company
Imagine a world where every small business has the power to thrive. That's the world we're building at iwoca. Small businesses aren't just statistics - they're the heartbeat of our communities, the character of our high streets, and the engine of our economy. Since 2012, we've revolutionised how these businesses access finance, turning what was once a lengthy, frustrating process into something remarkable: funding that's fast, flexible, and actually works for modern businesses.
Our impact speaks for itself: we've provided billions in funding to over 150,000 businesses across Europe, making us one of the continent's leading fintech innovators. But we're just getting started. Our mission? To empower one million businesses with the financial tools they deserve.
We combine cutting-edge technology and data science with genuine human understanding to make finance feel less like a barrier and more like a superpower. Whether it's managing cash flow or seizing unexpected opportunities, we ensure businesses get the funds they need - often within minutes.
The team
The Credit Cards team is building iwoca's newest product for small and medium-sized businesses, giving them a fast, flexible way to manage cash flow alongside our existing loans. We're aiming to build a market-leading product, as the credit card is a core part of our long-term growth strategy. We're responsible for the systems, processes, and product features that will make this possible - from platform architecture and credit risk to user experience and servicing. The team currently consists of a product manager and 4 engineers.
The role
As a Full Stack Engineer in the Credit Cards team, you'll lead the design of our front-end architecture and its integration with the back end, shaping how customers apply for, use, and manage their cards. You'll work across the stack, but with a strong focus on crafting intuitive, high-quality user interfaces. The work will involve iterating quickly, refining solutions, and building both technical and product knowledge as the system grows.
The projects
You'll work on engineering projects that give you scope to design new systems and deliver features that matter to customers, such as:
* Onboarding flow: Create a fast, frictionless signup experience, so customers can get approved and start using their card within minutes.
* Rewards experience: Bring our cashback and partner perks to life. Build clear, engaging views that show customers what they've earned, how to redeem, and how to get more from their spend.
* Card Management: Give customers complete control over their cards - from managing spend, to issuing new cards and managing cardholders. Build user interfaces that make the product simple to understand and use, while offering maximum flexibility.
* Operational tooling: Collaborate with our Ops Strategy team to shape how we support customers at scale. Architect and build the internal tools that make resolving issues, managing disputes, and delivering great service feel seamless.
The requirements
Essential:
* Front-end engineering experience, ideally using React and TypeScript, including testing, consuming APIs, and accessibility.
* Confidence working across the stack, including back-end development, ideally in Python.
* Experience designing, building, and maintaining API endpoints.
* Experience delivering high-quality, accessible UI from design tools (e.g., Figma) through to production.
* Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, focusing on outcomes and impact.
Bonus:
* Experience with financial products, especially payment products.
* Experience with Django and PostgreSQL.
* A strong numerical or technical background, with a degree in maths, physics, computer science, engineering, or relevant industry experience.
The salary
We expect to pay from £80,000 - £100,000 for this role. But, we're open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly salary and performance reviews.
