Job Summary
The Non Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) provides non-emergency, pre-planned transport to and from hospitals and treatment centres for patients attending outpatient clinics, day surgery units, and day centres. The service is a vital link between communities and is an essential part of healthcare provided by the Ambulance Service in Wales.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will manage advance and same-day scheduling for all non-emergency patient journeys within a specific geographical area, which involves a high volume of daily patient journeys. Strong organisational skills are essential. The role requires working to deadlines, efficiently handling additional or late transport requests, and optimally utilising resources. Responsibilities include updating schedules with amendments and reallocations as needed. Knowledge of North Wales geography is desirable.
This position offers the chance to work in a busy, challenging, yet supportive team environment. Effective problem-solving and calmness under pressure are crucial. Candidates should have good educational standards, typing, and IT skills, and experience in demanding environments with a proactive attitude.

Qualifications
* Essential: 5 GCSEs grade C or above, including English and Maths or equivalent.
* Desirable: Experience with recognised booking and planning systems.
Knowledge
* Essential: Understanding of organisational structure, policies, procedures, keyboard skills, and geographical knowledge.
* Desirable: Knowledge of NATO radio procedures, phonetic alphabet, and medical terminology.
Experience
* Desirable: Experience in decision-making in dynamic environments, remaining calm under pressure.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team, exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively. Keyboard speed of 20wpm and a professional telephone manner are required. Commitment to personal development is expected.
