Commercial Officer — Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate; This opening assignment is for 12 months; Location: Salisbury or Fareham. Hybrid working.
Role Summary
Working within the organisation’s Commercial Function, you will provide sourcing, sales, and contract management support across a portfolio of projects. You will work closely with Commercial Managers and project teams to develop procurement strategies, lead competitive or single-source procurements, manage complex contracts, and ensure value for money and effective supplier performance throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising project staff on acquisition and procurement strategies
* Leading sourcing activities, tenders, and negotiations (including complex contracts)
* Managing higher value or complex contracts and supplier performance
* Supporting commercial sales activity
* Acting as a local commercial expert
Key criteria
* Independent experience in sourcing, procurement, and contract management
* Strong commercial judgement and risk assessment skills
* Ownership of tender evaluation decisions
* Supplier performance monitoring and cost analysis experience
