With continued investment and growth in its in-house advocacy offering, the organisation is now seeking a senior advocate to play a key role in both technical delivery and team leadership.
Your new role
This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced Solicitor Advocate or Barrister to take on complex, high-value litigation work while also shaping the direction of a growing advocacy team.
You will operate independently, without supervision, undertaking the most technically demanding advocacy, advisory and drafting work. In addition, you will play a significant role in mentoring junior lawyers, supporting team development and contributing to client strategy and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
\t
* Handle a broad range of complex advocacy matters, including: multi-track trials and high-value hearings, complex interlocutory applications and CCMCs, JSMs, sanctions, recoveries and specialist proceedings.

* Draft and settle high-value and complex pleadings
\t
* Provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders and clients
\t
* Travel to North West courts.
\t
* Develop and maintain at least one recognised niche specialism
\t
* Act as a key technical resource across core practice areas
\t
* Supervise and mentor junior advocates
\t
* Assist with, or lead, the management of sub-teams
\t
* Deliver training and legal updates across the wider business
\t
* Build strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders
\t
* Contribute to product development and client-facing initiatives
\t
* Support the growth and market profile of the in-house advocacy team
What you'll need to succeed
\t
* Qualified Barrister (practising certificate) or Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience
\t
* 7+ years' PQE or call
\t
* Proven track record as an advocate across multiple disciplines
\t
* Strong experience in at least three of the following: insurance fraud, personal injury (EL/PL), large loss, costs or professional negligence
\t
* Demonstrable technical excellence and ability to handle complex litigation independently
\t
* Experience mentoring or managing junior team members
\t
* Strong commercial awareness and client-facing capability
\t
* Established reputation as a trusted advisor internally and externally
