This is a new 10 PA post for a Consultant Acute Physician with or without a specialty interest, at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
* Provide, alongside the current team, the acute medicine service at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, including in-patient and same day emergency care
* Provide clinical supervision to junior medical staff working within the department
* Comply with the GMC requirements of the Duties of a Doctor at all times
* Active participation in monthly clinical governance and consultant meetings
* Active participation in departmental audit and quality improvement projects
* Active participation in trainee teaching and development
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full registration with the GMC/ eligible for registration within 6 months of CCST in Acute Medicine, GIM, infectious diseases or microbiology at interview date
* Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* Higher degree e.g. PhD/MD submitted/awarded
Essential criteria
* Fully trained in Acute Medicine, GIM, infectious diseases or microbiology
* Previous responsibility for clinical governance and GMC Good Medical Practice
* Experience in all aspects of general medicine and patient care, able to abide by the Trust CARE Values: Compassionate, Aspirational, Respectful and Excellent
* Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team, understanding each others unique role
