As a Clinical Fellow in Community Paediatrics at HCRG Care Group, you will be part of a friendly and dynamic team of ten consultants and three associate specialists based at St Martins Hospital, delivering services across the Child Health department.

The post holder will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing care to children, young people, and families in BaNES and Wiltshire. Relevant experience in clinical management of children, including those with neurodevelopmental difficulties, is required. Safeguarding children experience is desirable but training can be provided.

The child health department is a friendly and dynamic team based in St Martins Community Hospital in Bath and venues across Wiltshire. We are a training department hosting paediatric trainees from Severn deanery (ST4-8) and are accredited to supervise higher specialist trainees in community child health. The department is well supported by the child health administration team.

This service operates Monday to Friday and is closed on Bank Holidays.

The post is advertised as full-time (10 PAs), but part-time or job share applicants will be considered.


Main duties of the job

The appointee will:

* Deliver community paediatric clinics, assessing children with concerns affecting health, development, or educational potential, including assessments for the SEND process.
* Contribute to teaching and clinical supervision of paediatric trainees and undergraduate medical students.
* Perform medical examinations related to assessments of Looked After Children, including completing relevant forms within statutory time limits.
* Liaise with other health professionals for coordinated management of assessments, treatment, and follow-up.
* Participate in the safeguarding medical on-call rota, providing information, participating in strategy discussions, medical assessments, advice, peer review, and safeguarding supervision.

Job responsibilities

* UK recognised medical degree and full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
* UK working experience (ST4 - ST6).
* MRCPCH/MRCP or equivalent.
* Experience in community paediatrics and knowledge of UK child health systems.
* Experience assessing and diagnosing Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Experience advising Education on Special Educational Needs.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car.
