Role Overview
Location: HULL - Hybrid. Salary up to £65,000. Car allowance £5,000 per annum. Medical and critical illness scheme, cycle to work scheme.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead multi-discipline design teams to deliver buildable designs for modular/mobile healthcare units.
* Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, project managers, and supply-chain partners; translate clinical requirements into design solutions.
* Develop and review detailed design drawings, specifications and technical calculations to ensure compliance with healthcare building standards, HTM/HTM‑like guidance, fire strategy and statutory requirements.
* Manage design programmes and milestones, ensuring timely sign-off to meet manufacturing and installation schedules.
* Coordinate mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural disciplines to produce fully coordinated BIM/CAD deliverables; perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts.
* Drive value engineering and risk mitigation through constructive design reviews and continuous improvement.
* Prepare technical submittals, design risk assessments, design change notices and sign-off documentation for installation and client approval.
* Support procurement and tender evaluation from a technical perspective, including assessing suppliers' technical proposals.
* Mentor and develop junior designers and CAD/BIM technicians; promote best practice design workflows and governance.
* Ensure accurate and auditable project records, and compliance with company QA processes and H&S procedures.
Required Experience and Skills
* 5+ years managing design in modular/offsite construction.
* Strong technical knowledge of building services (M&E), structural interfaces and architectural detailing.
* Experience producing and coordinating BIM/CAD models and using clash-detection tools.
* Working knowledge of UK standards and guidance (or equivalent), including HTM where applicable, fire safety and statutory approvals.
* Demonstrable experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing client relationships.
* Excellent problem-solving, project planning and communication skills.
* Ability to travel to client sites and manufacturing locations as required; valid driving licence desirable.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Architecture, Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline, and professional membership where applicable.
Package and Location
Salary up to £60,000 per annum. Car allowance £5,000 per annum plus standard company benefits. Office location flexible within UK (HULL preferred but not essential). Hybrid working, with travel to sites and manufacturing facilities as required.
