Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team in the UK. In this role, you will be essential in maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles and machinery, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your contributions will directly support our mission of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance, MOT prep, parts ordering and emergency repairs on a variety of vehicles, tyres and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
* Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
* Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency.
* Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mechanics.
* Proven experience as a Mechanic or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and machinery.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with safety regulations in the workplace.
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Qualifications and Skills required
* Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, ideally within an industrial or recycling environment.
* Technical Skills: Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Welding experience is a plus.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of mechanical issues efficiently.
* Certifications: Relevant mechanical certifications or vocational qualifications.
* Driving Licence: A valid UK HGV driving licence is not essential but preferred.
* Diagnostics: Identify mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and provide effective solutions to minimize downtime.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure all equipment and tools are in line with health and safety regulations. General workshop duties, including maintaining good garage housekeeping standards.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members including mentoring and identifying training opportunities and working with other departments to coordinate repairs and schedule regular maintenance.
