Our client in Sussex is seeking an experienced and adaptable Environmental Health Officer (EHO) to join their team on a full-time basis. This role is suited to a generalist officer, with particular strengths in Environmental Protection and preferably Food Safety. Key Responsibilities: * Environmental Protection: * Investigating statutory nuisances, including noise, odour, smoke, and light complaints. * Responding to service requests related to environmental pollution. * Preparing enforcement notices where necessary and taking cases through to prosecution if required. * Liaising with residents, businesses, and external agencies to ensure compliance and resolution. * Contributing to planning consultations and providing technical advice on environmental protection matters. * Food Safety (Desirable): * Conducting food hygiene inspections in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice. * Investigating food-related complaints and enforcing relevant food safety legislation. * Providing support to local food businesses on compliance and best practices.
