Job Summary

Fixed Term (12 Months)| 7.1 PA
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Locum Consultant in Paediatrics to join our vibrant and supportive general paediatric team at Sheffield Children's.
This post offers the opportunity to combine acute and general paediatric responsibilities with a specialist role in safeguarding. The Safeguarding Support Unit (SSU) delivers child protection medical assessments to children, young people and families from Sheffield and the wider region. You would contribute to high-quality care and service development across both general paediatrics and the SSU.

* Relevant expertise in Safeguarding
* CESR applicants must be on the Specialist Register at the time of application.

We offer a supportive environment with a team of over 20 consultants. For candidates unable to meet the full job plan, tailored solutions can be discussed.

If you're committed to delivering holistic, family-centred care and enhancing the wellbeing of children and young people, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

You will report to the Associate Medical Director, and responsibilities will include:

* Deliver general paediatric care through clinics and acute service cover, including Consultant of the Week duties, rapid access clinics, twilight shifts, weekends, and on-call commitments.
* Safeguarding assessments for children and young people through:
o Suspected abuse and neglect assessments
o Option to complete CSAAS forensic medical assessments (support and supervision provided if needed)
