About The Job

Part time - 0.6FTE / 22.2 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Grade 8 Clinical Lead Podiatrist with musculoskeletal, high risk and nail surgery expertise to join our innovative, multidisciplinary clinic based within the university setting. This pivotal position involves managing a personal patient caseload, leading and supporting a team of practice educators and graduate podiatrists and overseeing the clinical education of podiatry students. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy Clinical Lead to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the clinic.

As Clinical Lead the post holder will ensure the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based podiatry services at the University of Northampton clinic. They will lead the development and oversight of the podiatry service, contribute to the strategic expansion of student-led clinics, and uphold the highest standards of clinical governance, quality, and accountability

About You

You will be an experienced and forward-thinking HCPC-registered Podiatrist with a strong clinical background bringing expertise in musculoskeletal conditions, high-risk foot management, and nail surgery. You will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within a multidisciplinary team and a passion for clinical education and service development. With excellent leadership and organisational skills, you will be confident in managing your own caseload while overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy clinic.

You will bring excellent mentoring and supervisory experience, with the ability to support practice educators, graduate podiatrists, and students in a clinical learning environment. A sound understanding of clinical governance, audit, and quality assurance processes is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines to drive innovation, improve patient outcomes and contribute to the growth of the clinic. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are key to success in this post.

Qualifications

Essential:

* Degree in Podiatry
* Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
* Member of the Royal College of Podiatry (RCOP)

Desirable:

* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant area
* Qualification in practice education/ mentorship/ clinical supervision/ teaching
