Hampshire CC are looking for a Social worker in the Fostering Team located out of Havant Rate: £38 Location: Havant Contract: 3 Months with potential extension As a Social Worker with experience of working with children and families, you will be supporting fostering families, through supervision under the requirements of the Fostering Regulations 2011, to continue meeting the National Minimum Standards for Fostering, developing their role through a broad spectrum of training and peer support networks to ensure the best homes for our children. You will also be expected to cover a duty phone line when required and respond to calls which may include the need for a visit to carers who are managing a crisis with a child in placement. You will also be expected to support our Placement commissioning team to source and match children to fostering families to promote long term positive outcomes. You may also be required to source emergency placements with very limited timescales attached. You must have 3 years post qualifying experience as a permanent worker in a LA Role Responsibilities: Support and supervise your fostering families under the requirements of the Fostering Regulations 2011. Ensure your fostering families continue to meet the National Minimum Standards for Fostering. Ensure your fostering families remain up to date with their training needs. Reporting back to the team manager and discuss, in formal / informal supervision, the successes and progress of specific tasks/activities set out for completion within the plan. Understanding and working within corporate and statutory frameworks, such as anti-discriminatory practice, health and safety, sustainability and demonstrating commitment to them in daily working practice, ensuring that any issues are challenged appropriately. Ensuring that all Hampshire County Council child protection policies are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies. Participating in group case discussions and relevant meetings. Working with fostering families across a large geographical area and sometimes at a long distance.
