We are recruiting on behalf of a growing, multi‑entity organisation for an Assistant Financial Controller. This opportunity is ideally suited to a newly or part‑qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) seeking a broad, high‑exposure role that offers both professional development and long‑term progression.The business operates in a dynamic environment where finance is central to maintaining strong controls and supporting informed decision‑making. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced Financial Controller and gain valuable exposure to senior stakeholders.
The Role
This is a hands‑on, developmental position providing exposure across financial reporting, controls and process improvement. You will contribute to core accounting activity while building the experience required to progress into a more senior finance position over time.
The role is well suited to individuals moving from practice into industry, or those in industry looking for a step‑up opportunity with breadth and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Support periodic financial close and reporting activity
Prepare and review accounting adjustments, including accruals and prepayments
Maintain and review balance sheet items to ensure accuracy and control
Assist in the preparation of financial information for senior management
Liaise with external advisers in support of audit and statutory requirements
Work collaboratively with non‑finance teams to resolve queries and improve processes
Support payment runs and cash‑related controls
Provide flexible support across the wider finance function as require About You
Newly or part‑qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Experience in industry or making your first move from practice
Strong understanding of core accounting principles and controls
Confident Excel user with experience of finance systems
Organised, detail‑focused and keen to develop
Clear communicator able to work effectively with non‑finance stakeholders
Ambitious and motivated to progress into a senior finance roleWhats on offer?
