Senior Claims Handler - Third Party and Credit Hire
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience/qualifications
We are seeking a highly competent Motor Claims professional to join our busy office on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone with senior-level experience in all aspects of Motor Claims, looking to advance their career with a forward-thinking company that supports professional growth and rewards achievement.
Responsibilities include:
* Serving as the point of contact for carrier, cover holder, or broker queries and complaints, ensuring appropriate action.
* Managing complaints confidently with minimal supervision.
* Providing outstanding customer service to make the claims process stress-free for policyholders.
* Coaching and mentoring staff, providing training and support to junior team members.
* Monitoring departmental workload, prioritizing tasks, and preventing backlogs.
* Conducting team audits, providing feedback, and promoting staff development.
* Assisting with recruitment and working with HR to ensure timely staffing.
* Applying performance management solutions fairly and professionally, conducting appraisals.
* Representing the company professionally.
Requirements:
* Experience handling vehicle and credit hire claims, including pre-litigation and Delegated Authority matters.
* Expert knowledge of credit hire claims, including negotiations, training, and liaison with claims trainers.
* Ability to identify indemnity issues and fraud, liaising with the Fraud Controller.
* Experience managing complaints and familiarity with FOS guidelines.
* Willingness to manage handlers' portfolios and assist with claims processing.
* Dip CII (or working towards) is advantageous.
* Proven mentoring and managerial skills.
* Strong customer service and computer skills.
* Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.
