Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer

About the role
A skilled IT Infrastructure Analyst is needed to support the development and delivery of IT services across Pathology First and SYNLAB UK&I. This role provides direct support to the IT Operations Manager, ensuring our laboratory services have the theoretical and practical IT knowledge required to maintain a quality, compliant, and secure operational environment. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our team, supporting daily operations and assisting with critical project work.
Responsibilities
* Support and maintain server and network environments, including hands-on, third-line support for Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10, Server).
* Monitor and update jobs within the ITSM system, keep users informed, and adhere to Incident Management and Request Fulfilment processes.
* Help maintain cybersecurity footprint, ensuring all areas comply with relevant legislation.
* Collaborate with third-party suppliers to resolve issues, perform daily operational checks, and provide planned assistance for IT projects at remote sites as required.
* Take responsibility for documentation, assist with creation and maintenance of Service Desk procedures and the Configuration Management Database, and update the knowledge base with resolution information.
* Seek personal development through a blend of academic learning and practical experience.
About You
Essential
* Educated to A-Level or HND level.
* Proficiency in Desktop and Server Troubleshooting, as well as Network and Firewall Troubleshooting.
* Experience with Patching, Upgrade Lifecycle, Active Directory Management, and Group Policy Management.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server OS and Microsoft Desktop OS.
* Proven ability in Personal Time Management, Stakeholder Management, and Teamwork.
Desirable
* A degree or equivalent qualification.
* Relevant IT qualifications such as MCP, CompTIA, or ITIL v4.
* Experience in the Healthcare sector.
* Knowledge of Cloud Computing.
