We are recruiting an experienced Paraplanner to support a growing adviser network with high?level technical research, suitability reports, and holistic financial planning. This role can be fully remote or office?based in Chelmsford, depending on your preference.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Paraplanner who enjoys complex casework, collaborating closely with advisers, and contributing to the development of both paraplanners and trainee paraplanners within the team.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Paraplanner, you will provide advanced technical support across pensions, investments, protection, IHT, and full financial planning. Youll complete detailed research, prepare suitability reports, check and sign off team work, and help ensure all client advice is fully compliant.
This position sits within a structured paraplanning function, with clear processes, strong leadership support, and ongoing development pathways.
Key Responsibilities
1. Detailed assessment of incoming cases to identify required technical information
2. Prepare recommendation reports, suitability letters and supporting research
3. Create and maintain complete audit trails to justify product and fund recommendations
4. Carry out fund and product research using tools such as Selectapension, Synaptics, Assureweb, Morningstar, FE Analytics
5. Conduct high?level cashflow modelling and forecasting
6. Provide creative, robust financial planning strategies across holistic advice
7. Check and sign off work produced by other paraplanners
8. Support and mentor trainee paraplanners to develop technical capability
9. Liaise with advisers, providers, and internal stakeholders on technical matters
10. Prepare ongoing service reports and ensure all files demonstrate suitability
11. Ensure all work adheres to FCA requirements and internal compliance policies
Experience & Qualifications Required
12. Level 4 Diploma qualified (minimum) essential
13. Significant paraplanning experience in an IFA, network or wealth management environment
14. Strong technical understanding across pensions, investments, protection & tax planning
15. Familiarity with industry research tools (Selectapension, FE Analytics, Synaptics etc.)
16. Experience using back?office systems such as Intelligent Office
17. Excellent written communication and report?writing skills
18. Strong organisation, analytical ability and attention to detail
19. Ability to manage your own workload and support junior members of the team
20. Clear understanding of the financial planning process and regulatory expectations
