Travel to other offices when required Reports to: Head of People Responsible for: HR Advisor Are you an experienced Employee Relations professional looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a dynamic, fast-paced industry? We’re looking for a confident and capable Employee Relations Specialist to join the Novus People Services team and take the lead in managing all our Employee Relations matters. With a workforce of around 700 colleagues, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things ER within Novus. You will predominately be advising managers, handling sensitive and high-risk cases, and supporting the mission to make Novus a great place to work. What you’ll be doing: Managing a complex ER caseload of approx. 30 live cases across grievance, disciplinary, performance, absence, and investigations. Acting as the main point of contact for managers and colleagues on all ER matters, providing expert advice and hands-on support. Leading on TUPE transfers, restructures, and organisational change processes with expertise, confidence and clarity. Provide leadership and guidance to the HR Advisor, overseeing complex casework while actively coaching, mentoring, and supporting their professional development to build capability and confidence Partnering with our business development team to provide commercial and expert advice on any potential TUPE liability identified as part of the Novus tender process Developing and reviewing key HR policies and procedures in line with employment law and best practice. Upskilling managers through training, coaching and practical guidance to build ER capability across the business at all levels. Partnering with external legal advisors and ACAS (where required) to make improvement to our practices, mitigate risk to Novus and ensure consistency. Analysing ER trends and data to inform proactive solutions and continuous improvement of people practices. What we’re looking for: Proven experience managing high-volume, complex ER cases in a commercial fast paced environment, ideally within the construction, engineering or industrial sectors. Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, including TUPE, redundancy and change management. Confident in designing and delivering manager training and upskilling programmes. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and coach managers at all levels. Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a collaborative, supportive team. CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) qualification preferred.
