Job Description
In a Nutshell: We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team within Vistry Bristol, at our site in Salisbury, Wiltshire. As our Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work within our wider Commercial, Estimating and Buying team, responsible for supervising, managing, and advising on the financial and contractual aspects of multiple construction projects. You will oversee the execution of the Quantity Surveying function on allocated contracts to maximize quality of service and profitability.
You will perform a range of cost control and financial reporting duties across all construction activities undertaken by the company.

What we expect from you:

* HNC / HND in Surveying or equivalent
* Proven experience as a PQS / SQS / Commercial lead in residential house building
* Good understanding of building regulations and legal obligations
* Knowledge of construction methods and materials
* Strong mathematical and IT skills
* Ability to assess and analyze information
* Good business sense and budget management skills
* Negotiating and networking skills
* Desirable: Degree in Surveying or similar; working towards CIOB or RICS membership
Role Responsibilities:
* Participate in recruitment, development reviews, and succession planning
* Collaborate with departments and attend design meetings to advise on cost implications
* Identify and advise on delays, extensions, and costs, issuing relevant notices
* Review contract documentation and assist in tender preparations
* Conduct cost analyses, manage site staffing and build programs, and prepare budgets
* Negotiate budgets, issue variation orders, and manage subcontractor contracts
* Ensure accurate cost posting, reconcile costs, and manage subcontractor payments
* Prepare external valuation documents and maintain site reserve lists
* Control and report post-contract cost movements monthly
* Provide regular reports on site-specific and project financials
