Job Description
Reporting to the Water Project Management Delivery Lead for the UK, the Senior Project Manager will deliver projects in the Midlands area in a consultancy role, with opportunities for progression into the UK Water, Environment, Rail or Nuclear sectors. The role will be office‑based (four days in the Midlands and one day working from home).
Role Responsibilities
General
* Manage NEC3/4 Option A, C, E ECC contracts and administer client‑side contract management.
* Control project budget and forecast costs.
* Collaborate with the quantity surveyor on payment valuations and certification of monthly payments under NEC4 forms.
* Enforce contractual documentation, maintain records, and address contractual issues.
* Prepare and draft contract communications: Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events, and general notices.
Pre‑Contract Activities
* Prepare initial project scope, cost estimates and feasibility studies.
* Prepare and evaluate tender documentation.
* Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with contractors early in the design phase.
Post‑Contract Activities
* Manage and administer construction contracts.
* Monitor project expenditure, cash flow and manage change orders.
* Lead claims and dispute resolution.
* Prepare final accounts and conduct post‑project evaluation.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or master's degree in a numeric discipline.
* Full membership of a chartered body such as APM or MAPM.
* Experience at postgraduate level in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment sectors.
* Line‑management and recruitment experience for Project Managers or Assistant Project Managers.
* Knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management.
* Valid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card is desirable.
* Experience as a client‑side main contractor or joint venture.
* Proficiency in NEC3/4 contract suite (Options A, C, E).
* Right to work in the UK.
* Subject to client interview and acceptance.
