Your new job working as amercial Account Director/People Leader will be based in the City of London for an Independent Lloyd’s Broker. Your new Brokers employ over 300 staff around the UK. They have grown rapidly in the last 20 years to be one of the top independent brokers in the UK dealing with over
16,000+ clients. Havingpleted numerous successful acquisitions, thepany has secured further funding to continue its ambitious growth plans. They hold Chartered Insurance Broker status, awarded in recognition of theirmitment to maintaining the highest standards in many areas. Due to growth within their UK Retailmercial and Corporate division, a permanent role for amercial Account Director / team Leader has arisen.
Your new role
Your new role as amercial Account Director / Team Leader means that you will be managing a large book ofmercial insurance business with a focus on new business growth and Client impact, as well as Team Leading responsibility. This will include managing a book of business of circa £250k formercial insurance business, with a strong focus on new business growth and client impact. The successful candidate will also lead a small team (up to 8 direct reports), primarily Account Executives. Your main responsibilities will include managing and growing a portfolio ofmercial insurance clients, driving new business activity alongside client retention and development Lead, mentoring, and supporting a team of Account Executives, contributing to regional financial performance and reporting, and supporting people management activities including performance development and coaching.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience as a Client Director, Senior Account Executive or Account manager with team leadership experience and experience withmercial Insurance will contribute to your success in this role. You should have experience managing mid-market orplexmercial insurance portfolios, strong knowledge ofmercial insurance products, ability to win and develop new business, alongside excellent negotiation and influencing skills. Alongside this, you should possess the ability to develop and execute strategic account plans and be able to execute strong pipeline management and new business development capability. It is beneficial to the role that you hold CII qualifications (DIP CII) or working towards ACII alongside experience supporting performance management or talent development discussions. This role would suit a candidate who is looking to step up into a more defined leadership role or an an established Account Director or People leader seeking a more impactful position.
