Job Overview
The Pharmacy Homecare team are looking to recruit a Trainee / Senior Pharmacy Assistant who is enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and has excellent time management skills.
The Homecare service provides a fantastic service to patients, allowing them to receive and administer their medication at home. The candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams in the trust and with Homecare providers, must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, must be organised, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate must be able to adapt to the changing demands of the service.
Qualifications
* Willing to work towards completing the Level 2 Dispensing Pharmacy qualification (applications welcome from those who already hold this qualification).
* Existing Level 2 Dispensing Pharmacy qualification will start the role as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant Band 3.
Responsibilities
* Dealing with queries and problem solving.
* Maintaining records of prescriptions and supply of medicines to patients.
* Following procedures and guidelines.
* Communicating with a variety of stakeholders and service providers.
* Prioritising workload to ensure deadlines are met.
* Dispensing Homecare medication using the Pharmacy stock control system.
* Raising requisition numbers for Homecare prescriptions on the Pharmacy stock control system.
* Booking in and processing orders on the Pharmacy stock control system.
* Updating data on the Pharmacy stock control system.
* Processing and completing Homecare prescription requests.
* Dealing with invoice queries.
* Supporting new starters with training.
* Dispensing medication for patients in the hospital using the Pharmacy Stock control system.
* Contributing to the weekend and bank holiday rota.
