Overview: A major food manufacturer is looking to add to their successful engineering team by hiring an Automation Engineer. In this role, you will be part of a modern and expanding site in a key role for the team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be a part of a team of engineers managing the automation function across projects and maintenance. Working with the maintenance, production, and operations team, you will be a key player in ensuring the factory is running up to speed and production levels are maintained.
Responsibilities for the Automation Engineer:
1. Managing and overseeing the work as part of a team of automation engineers
2. Maintaining existing control systems on site
3. Managing project work and upgrades to control systems
4. Working on PLC systems (programming and fault finding)
5. Working with the wider engineering teams to ensure overall engineering targets are being met and achieved
Requirements for the Automation Engineer:
1. Time-served / recognized apprenticeship (or equivalent) in a relevant electrical engineering subject
2. Experience working in an automation engineering position
3. Experience working with major brands of PLCs and SCADA
4. Food / FMCG or manufacturing experience
